Stará Vápenka
Pension Stará Vápenka / Ekofarma Svinná is located on the border of the Šumava National Park and the protected landscape area, not far from the German border and 14 km from Železná Ruda.
About us
We currently offer accommodation in the newly reconstructed Pension Stará Vápenka. It was built in 1873 and, as the name suggests, lime was burned here until 1925. Old kilns have also been preserved in the immediate vicinity.
Everywhere around the farm there is picturesque nature and there is the possibility of both sports and trips to natural and historical monuments. The place gives visitors a feeling of freedom and connection with nature, safety for children and direct encounters with domestic animals.
It is also possible to swim in our ponds nearby or use additional services directly in the pension – fitness, aroma steam, bubble bath, Kneipp path and fun showers. For outdoor activities, you can rent bicycles or trekking poles. You can also use the newly built gym in the outdoor areas. In 2021, the well trail was opened, which you can walk (time requirement approx. 1.5 hours). In Šumava, everyone will find something for themselves.
The farm is a member of the Association of Organic Farmers PRO-BIO, which guarantees compliance with organic farming guidelines for its members.
In addition to accommodation in the guesthouse, we offer accommodation in a private cottage (for 4 people with the possibility of an extra bed) about 1 km from the farm.
About the Farm

It is also possible to swim in our ponds nearby or use additional services directly in the guesthouse – fitness, sauna, bike rental, trekking poles, etc. There is a workout and children’s playground right next to the guesthouse. Everyone can find something for themselves in Šumava.
The farm is a member of the Association of Organic Farmers PRO-BIO, which guarantees its members compliance with organic farming guidelines. Ecofarma Svinná can boast a certificate confirming the fulfillment of all requirements for labeling products with the BIO status. Currently, vegetables, fruits, herbs are certified in this way.
